The British Railways Class 117 DMU is one of two much older trains hosted at BVE Cornwall-
In 2006, BVE 4 was relatively new, and this introduced the concept of ‘plugins’- These allowed for realistic modelling of traction and safety systems.
Shortly thereafter, Oskaari Sarrekas released a plugin called OS_ATS, which allowed for a diesel locomotive with gearing for the first time.
This features a hand-drawn panel, with fully animated controls and working gearing.
No custom sounds or performance unfortunately.
Please Note: This model should be considered obsolete, and is primarily preserved for posterity. Martin Corbett of BVETMD has created a range of photorealistic DMUs, complete with full traction modelling, cabs and externals.
