class=\"wp-caption-text\">Figure 2b- Secondman&#8217;s Fault Lights<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Verify that the fire alarms function correctly, using the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">PageUp<\/kbd> key.<\/p>\n<p>Press the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">End<\/kbd> key to insert the master key.<\/p>\n<p>Select a direction using the reverser, with either the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">F<\/kbd> or <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">V<\/kbd> keys.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Driver&#8217;s Supervision Device (DSD)<\/em> will activate, with a continuous beeping sound being heard.<\/p>\n<p>Press the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">Insert<\/kbd> key to cancel the DSD.<\/p>\n<p>Return the reverser to neutral, using either the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">F<\/kbd> or <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">V<\/kbd> keys.<\/p>\n<p>You will now hear three relay clicks, signifying that the locomotive&#8217;s startup self-test sequence has completed, and that you may now proceed to start the engines.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Note: <\/strong>Due to OpenBVE limitations on the number of keyboard keys available to Plugins, I have been forced to implement an engine selector mechanism not found on the real locomotive.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Under normal operating circumstances in a multiple-engined locomotive, you should always start the engine located furthest away from the intended driving cab first. In this case, it is <em>Engine B<\/em>, and this has been pre-selected.<\/p>\n<p>Press and hold the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">3<\/kbd> key until the <em>Engine B Stopped<\/em> light changes from red to blue, and you hear the engine fire up.<\/p>\n<p>The locomotive is now ready to move using a single engine only. In order to bring the AWS system online, the startup self-test procedure detailed above must be performed. In addition, the locomotive must be stopped, and the reverser placed into neutral.<\/p>\n<p>First, press the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">PageDown<\/kbd> key to toggle the AWS isolation switch- The AWS system self-test procedure will now start.<\/p>\n<p>Press either the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">F<\/kbd> or <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">V<\/kbd> keys to select a direction.<\/p>\n<p>Return the reverser to neutral using the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">F<\/kbd> or <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">V<\/kbd> key.<\/p>\n<p>The AWS sunflower device will now briefly show a warning indication, and the AWS warning horn will sound continuously.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_642\" style=\"width: 138px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bvecornwall.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/AWS_Warning.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-642\" class=\"size-full wp-image-642\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bvecornwall.co.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/AWS_Warning.jpg\" alt=\"Figure 5- AWS Warning Indication\" width=\"128\" height=\"128\" data-id=\"642\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-642\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Figure 5- AWS Warning Indication<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Press the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">Insert<\/kbd> key to cancel the AWS warning horn.<\/p>\n<p>The locomotive is now ready to move with AWS enabled.<\/p>\n<h2>Stopping An Engine:<\/h2>\n<p>Stopping an engine may either be performed whilst on the move due to a failure, or whilst stopped at a station.<\/p>\n<p>First, select the engine you wish to stop using the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">2<\/kbd> key.<\/p>\n<p>Next, switch to <em>Engine Only<\/em> mode by pressing the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">4<\/kbd> key. This will cut-off traction power.<\/p>\n<p>Return the power controller to neutral using the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">Z<\/kbd> key.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, press the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">3<\/kbd> key. This will stop the selected engine, and the appropriate <em>Engine Stopped<\/em> fault light will change from blue to red.<\/p>\n<h2>Additional Features:<\/h2>\n<p>It is possible to isolate the fuel pumps, using the <kbd class=\"wp-kbd\">5<\/kbd> key.
